Simon Chan was born and raised
in New York City and currently lives in Los Angeles
with his wife Kelly.
After graduating from Stuyvesant High
School, Simon attended an Ivy League university and
graduated from Columbia College on the Dean's List
in 1995. He is a huge sports fan and after college,
was able to get the perfect "dream job"
working at the NBA. (National Basketball Association).
In his sports career, Simon has attended over 200
NBA Games live including 6 NBA All-Star Games and
4 NBA Finals. In 2002, Simon Chan became a certified
NBA Player Agent and had his first client. He was
just like “Jerry Maguire.”
Even though the money from his "dream
job" was good, it soon started to get old. Simon
was tired of coming home at 10:30pm after scouting,
recruiting and entertaining new clients. Approaching
30, Simon had reached an age where he was looking
to settle down with his girlfriend. He wasn't lacking
the income but he did lack the time and quality of
life to enjoy his time.
The NBA job brought back memories
of Simon’s childhood. His dad was a successful
doctor with his own medical practice and they were
well off and lived in a big house with 3 luxury cars.
But Simon’s most memorable moments as a kid
was when he got to play baseball with his father.
Simon had always loved sports and dreamed to play
for the New York Yankees. His heroes were Craig Nettles,
Ron Guidry and Don Mattingly. All he wanted to do
was play baseball and going to Yankees Stadium. One
day, his father suddenly stopped playing baseball
with him because he was too busy at his medical practice
and the hospitals. Simon still remembers that day
because he will never forget the disappointment. The
nice house and the luxury cars mean nothing to a 10
year old. All he wanted to do was play baseball with
his father. Baseball was Simon’s dream and his
life.
Looking back, Simon is very grateful
for his father and how he did his best to raise the
family. But as a 10 year old, Simon did not understand
why seeing patients is more important than playing
baseball with your son. Wasn't baseball more fun?!
Simon was bitter at his father and one of his goals
growing up was that when he has a family, he wants
to be able to spend time with them. Unfortunately
in 2003, with his busy "dream job", Simon
saw himself going down the same path as his dad did.
At the age of 30, Simon Chan realized that something
had to change.
After reading the books Rich Dad
Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and Multiple
Streams of Income by Robert G. Allen, Simon realized
the significance of 2 things – Time and Passive
Income. Time is our biggest asset and since we are
all on this earth for a limited time, we need to take
action immediately. Passive Income is income that
keeps coming in even if you are NOT working.
Passive Income is working smarter
so that you have money and more importantly, the time
to enjoy the money. Simon realized that his NBA job
would never provide him both time and money. Only
a business could allow Simon to do that. After much
research and planning, Simon ventured out and became
an entrepreneur in Nov. 2003 and launched his own
business.
Today, Simon’s business has
allowed him to help thousands of people across 3 different
continents as he has coached and provided opportunities
to those in need.
3 areas where Simon Chan and his team
of consultants have played the biggest impact is helping
others increase their personal wealth, creating more
personal time for people to enjoy life and improving
their health conditions.
In return, Simon’s consulting
business has provided him an income stream that continues
to flow even when he is no longer working. It has
allowed him to travel to 11 countries and establish
new relationships and friends.
Simon reflects, “The income
and the lifestyle is great but the MOST rewarding
things about this business is NOT the money; but the
ability to have a positive impact of the lives that
I have come across.”
“If you want to be successful
in business, it is easy. Just follow this advice that
I learned from best-selling author/motivational speaker,
Zig Ziglar, "If you help enough people get what
they want in life, you will get everything you want
in life."
